In May we took a Trip Back to Ohio and also spent a day and a half in Pittsburgh. Here are some pictures: Pittsburgh and the three rivers from the top of the Hill.
The view We went a rode a train at Station Square. Even grandma and Grandpa came along.
Then we ate at the "Original Hot Dog Shop" Us at Point State Park The Pittsburgh Zoo was really fun. LeAnn and Roman posing in front of the Rhino This is what Roman was pointing at. The lions were Roaring, and putting on a show. After the Zoo we ate at Permonti Bros. They had Sandwiches with Colslaw and fries inside the sandwich. it was.... strange. Off to Ohio. It rained most days but Shane and the boys did get the rafters up on Papa Bills barn. Roman and Mason had fun watching.
Roman got a Tractor Ride in any chance he got. After the kids went to bed we (Tony, Greta, Shane and LeAnn) drove 1 1/2 hours (each way) to Romeo's Pizza. It's some pretty good pizza. Roman and Corinne watching Dora. And Roman made sure to help Grandpa blow out his birthday candles since he was busy talking on the phone.
Roman has been enjoying the few nice days we've had lately. He loves the slide and will climb the jungle gym a hundred times just to slide down. When he gets to the bottom he throws his hands up in the air and says "Alright!" He is getting so grown up!
LeAnn and Roman at Famous Dave's BBQ. We went there for LeAnn's Birthday.
January has been pretty fun. We went bowling with the Paynes for Kevin's birthday. Roman had an all around good time!
Grandma and Grandpa Betts came to visit. Grandpa helped replace the kitchen faucet and hung some more drywall which resulted in a new playroom under the stairs for roman that is just the perfect size. He loves it!
We went to Ohio for Thanksgiving. We had so much fun playing and eating....eating and playing. Here are a whole bunch of pictures from our trip. Roman picked up some new words while were out and also learned that he IS able to get on the couch by himself. He also enjoyed having Grandma, Grandpa and the cousins around to play with.
Roman, Corinne, and Mason just playing away. Roman sure loved this train. Roman trying on Corinne's sunglasses We went to the Columbus Zoo. The fish tank was lots of fun
Then it was off to the Gorilla cage and that was COOL! There was one gorilla that came out and ran all over it's play area. The baby gorilla was cute too. This gorilla was actually running towards us really fast. He came and slammed up against the glass. Off to Hartford for more food and fun!
This rocking chair was just Roman's size he liked getting in and out. Roman and Great Grandma Mallett just rocking away. Roman and Corinne drawing pictures in the condensation on the screen door. It was cold outside and WARM inside.
We've been planting some more trees in our back yard. Hopefully
they will help to shade our yard and make it a little more private. We went to
Sundance and rode the ski lift up and hiked down. We took a wrong turn and
didn't make it to the waterfall but we still enjoyed it. The fall colors were
beautiful. A summer of walking on city sidewalks didn't prepare our legs for
hiking though. Ouch. Roman is learning more words every day and gradually gets
better at saying them correctly. Animal noises & names, tractor, car, bike,
stuck and airplane are some of his favorites.
Roman is walking! Grandma and Grandpa Betts were lucky enough to be in town for it. He is getting better and better but still takes some pretty hard falls every now and then. It is gradually becoming his main form of travel now. Roman Loved having the Grandparents around as well as Grandma Mallett.
Before
During Roman Swimming with the Payne Cousins
After
Roman like feeing the birds his crackers ~ LeAnn with the jelly fish in Seattle
Multnomah Falls in Oregon (Very Cool) On top of the Space needle looking down on Seattle ~ Seaside beach, Oregon. The water was cold! Multnomah Falls Silver Creek Falls, OR (this was much bigger than it looks)
LeAnn and Roman have been busy gardening and running when it's not raining, and sewing when it is. (ok, roman just plays and LeAnn does the work) Roman just had his 1 year checkup he is 32 inches long & 24 lbs. That puts him in the 95% on height and the 60% on weight. He is way above average in all the developmental areas except gross motor skills. Guess we better bust out the treadmill and stair stepper. He knows things like where his nose is, what a dog says, what a cow says (although they both kinda sound the same to me) how to say bye bye and he likes to yell at kids and look for airplanes. We just can't get enough of him. Hope you are all well! 06-07-05
We've
been living in Springville since January 2003 in a home that LeAnn's Family
built while she was in Highschool. We have been working on the yard and garden
and always have some sort of project on the list. Right now, we are working on
fixing up the side yard where the garden is so that it looks nicer. Last fall we
planted some trees and bushes in the front yard, and we are constantly trying to
get our grass to grow! We would also like to get some trees in the back for some
shade.
